I hunt because I enjoy it a great deal.

Call it whatever makes you feel good.

Some great statements from Bone Head:
Regardless of which method is used you still have a human killing an animal for food and or sport and that is the plain truth and is what needs to be protected.

On the contrary, when you go into a 1800 ac ranch that is high fenced and rattle up a buck and kill him you have been successful hunting.

I agree totally.
Now where is atomikall with the attack on you for referring to hunting as possibly being sport??

Now you agree that those who refer to hunting as a sport are not trashing something you enjoy? Good, I was hoping you'd not take things so literally.

Ok Don Fisher Im sure you were wondering where I've been and why I havnt piped in on this one LOL neener!

The main issue most have with high fence hunting is based on morality and ethics of hunting. These are both personal choices and as with all personal choices there are going to be differences of opinions and there should be. It is our duty as individuals and as hunters to keep each other in check as well as to offer our wild game the respect that they so richly deserve. I personally feel that high fence operations on large acerage (1000 acres +) is quite challenging and does give that animal the fighting chance it deserves and yes I totally dissagree with these operations that raise trophy animals and tame them just for some deep pocket lazy butthead to walk up and shoot it but that is just my own personal opinion and should be treated as such. But will I walk up and slap that deep pocket lazy butthead and try to force my values on him? No. What I will try to do is educate him respectfully and show him that our wildlife needs us to treat them as they should be treated. What we as hunters need to learn is something that Don has already said. The Government , both States and Federal, are trying their best to make as much money on hunting as possible and running the poor fellow that quite possibly needs hunting to sustain his family out of hunting. Rather than putting our energy into bashing these sorry "penned" establishments, we should focus on lowering tag prices and the way the tags are issued, i.e. big business guide services getting 35% of the states tags while the residents having to draw for the rest. And such as that. Focus on the main problems and the smaller problems will go away.
