ACORN under investigation

The problems with ACORN have never gone away, even though the lefties have tried to shove it under a rug. ACORN may do SOME good work in urban areas, but I'm betting most of the money has disappeared via the shell game they've been playing all along. So investigators need to follow the money - its been a tough trail to follow!

And why wasn't Dale Rathke prosecuted for embezzling? How many more are helping themselves to the till?

Cowgal I hate to do this cause it's as embarrasing for me as it is for you.

Acorn's not under investigation by anybody. Did you read this somewhere and they provided you with the link?

If you look in your first link you'll see it.

Is this the same place you got that field mouse, levitation train to Vegas stuff?

Maybe when you see one of these things look for at least one regular news source running with it. And I dont mean a story about "Fox News Says" but a regular news source going with the story themselves. If not wait a while and dont' stick your neck out until they do. But at least read the link you provide.

You shouldn't be reading Michelle Malkin either. She's

Cowgal, thanks for keeping us updated. Issues like this tend to get swept under the rug unless people like you are vigilant in making sure the truth gets out there.

I heard a report today that charges are being dropped against the Black Panther group for voter intimidation. From what was reported the case was pretty solid, but Holder is dropping the charges.

I'll have to follow this case to see how it develops.

As Wikipedia shows, just as a reference about previous problems over the years, ACORN members have been indicted and convicted.

# In Ohio in 2004, four ACORN employees were indicted by a federal grand jury for submitting false voter registration forms.

# In January 2005 two Colorado ACORN workers were sentenced to community service for submitting false voter registrations. ACORN's regional director said, "we find it abhorrent and do everything we can to prevent it from happening."

# On November 1, 2006, four part-time ACORN employees were indicted in Kansas City, Missouri for voter registration fraud. Prosecutors said the indictments are part of a national investigation.] ACORN said in a press release that it is in part responsible in these individuals being caught, has fired them, and has cooperated and publicly supported efforts to look into the validity of the allegations.

# ACORN was investigated in 2006 for submitting false voter registrations in St. Louis, Missouri. 1,492 fraudulent voter registrations were identified.

# In 2007, five Washington state ACORN workers were sentenced to jail time. ACORN agreed to pay King County $25 000 for its investigative costs and acknowledged that the national organization could be subject to criminal prosecution if fraud occurs again.

According to King County Prosecuting Attorney Dan Satterberg, the misconduct was done "as an easy way to get paid [by ACORN], not as an attempt to influence the outcome of elections."

# In 2008, the Michigan Secretary of State office told the Detroit Free Press that ACORN had been submitting a sizeable number of duplicate and fraudulent applications to vote.

Hey Jtapia, I like this comment about Acorn from the WSJ article:

"The stink is bad enough that some congressional Democrats have taken notice." Laugh

The investigations into ACORN are not new - and yes its been under multiple names.

CVC, I also heard the charges were dropped against the Black Panther group. That's just wrong.

Acorn members being indited is not the same thing as Acorn itself. That's like saying because the Kansas Terrorist was a Republican that the Republican party are terrorists.

Investigations in the past were for incorrectly filled out forms. Here in Colorado if you sign that you are a US citizen and also give your State license number the form is incorectly filled out, that would be considered fraud. I seem to remember many Justice Department officials resigning over fake prosecutions of voters.

The big problem is tha Acorn registers black, brown, and poor people, and you all don't want them to vote. Too bad.

I think the title of this post is

ACORN under investigation.

Sure would like to see where it says that.

What! It doesn't? Then why use it as the title of the post?

You're right, cowgal...the DOJ's decision to drop charges against the Black Panthers is outrageous. This wasn't something debatable -- it was documented on video. Then there's this, which was part of the case:

You all seem fairly ignorant of US law, or maybe not, perhaps you are trying to stir up racial hatred.

Just because the two men belonged to a party called "the new black panther party" doesn't mean the party instigated anything. Just like that Kansas terrorist belonging to the Republican Party.

Why not hold a tea party or something?

Great post, pangolin. I agree completely -- just because a couple bad actors were wearing the Black Panther uniform in no way proves that they were acting under higher direction when they committed their crimes. People that are trying to insinuate that there was are just trying to drum up hatred and blow this up to serve a political agenda. The Black Panthers are a proud civic organization, and those guys had to be acting on their own.
