94 AE (angle eject) in 307 would most likely kill a moose,,,,I you can! I wasn't aware they still made the 307 but it is a 30 cal using the same bullets as the 30-30. Trying to remember, think it is a rimless case and have no idea why it was develpoed. If you have one, where do you find ammo? If you find it, you'll probally only find 150gr and 170gr flatnose loads.

If you don't have one but are looking at one because you like levers, the Savage 99 and the Browning BLR are levers and both in better cartridges for what your talking about. Just to start, the 308 Win. Probally one of the most overlooked cartridges around and with good bullets, adequate for moose.

From what I have read the 307 was developed because they gun company wanted to make a tubular magazine 308 win but because of the spitzer bullets available for the 308 they developed the 307 which only comes in flatnose bullets. It is in fact a rimmed case so you can't accedentally put a pointed 308 win in the rifle. The cartridge had a short life and ammo is getting hard to find and more expensive.

What Chester said is what my understanding of the 307 is as well. I'm unfamiliar with the ballistics.
