I've been bow hunting and have passed on some small bucks. Yesterday was the second day of rifle season. I have some pics of the buck after I shot him, but I can't get them off my camera so here is a trail cam of my buck.

He's not a monster, but I am happy with him. When I look at him I see,

jerky, deer sticks and summer sausage - yum.......he's at the processor right now being made into breakfast lunch and dinner.

Do you strictly bowhunt or do you rifle hunt too?

Rifle hunting is so much easier than bowhunting. I've sat in a tree for hours this season. Trying to remain still and warm on a little metal stand waiting for an opportunity.

Rifle season comes, we get out at 2:30 pm set up our fold out chairs, set my rifle on one of the big round bales concealing us and wait for the deer to come to us.

By 4:04 pm I had the deer on the ground.

Not as rewarding as arrowing one, but just as tasty Big smile

In the past I usually use the rifle to take my does, but with the new regs. I won't have to pass on Mr. Buck if he comes along. Just haven't had the opportunity to get out yet. Probably next weekend. Always seems to be good movement late bow season also.
