8mm Mauser Powder/Bullet Suggestions?

I sporterized my 8mm Mauser M48 and I'm loading 180 gr. Barnes TSX over H380.  Do any of you have any experience with this round?  If so, what powder would you suggest using?  I have H 4831SC, IMR 4350, IMR 4064, RE 19, Win 760, H 380 and Varget.  I also have Barnes manual, the new one, but it doesn't offer many load suggestions.  It says AA 2700 is most accurate, I haven't found 2700 yet and I've been looking for over a year.  I'm trying to get 2650 f.p.s. for Elk and Mule deer, any suggestions are appreciated.

Since you are not getting

Since you are not getting very many responses I'll throw my nickle into the hat here.

In my older Barnes manual it only list 2 of the powders that you have listed H380 and IMR 4064.  In my manual both of those powders will get you to 2700fps and a pinch more.  The max load for H380 is 52 grains at 2719fps and with IMR 4064 49 grains at 2735fps.  The recomended powders are H4895 at 48 grains at 2728fps and VIT N140 48 grains at 2639fps.  These loads are with the old 180grain FXB bullet.

It looks like you are going to have some fun playing to do.

Thanks Critter.  I suspect

Thanks Critter.  I suspect this forum is about dead, but I appreciate the reply.  Yes, I will have some fun shooting this one and testing loads.  I have some testers put together now with H 380, but only b/c Barnes shows that powder as the best velocity.  I never considered 4895 and I think it's available here in the Springs, so I plan on trying to purchase that this week and testing it to along with 4064.  Thanks for all your help.

Summertime is usually always

Summertime is usually always slower than other times.  People want to get outside and enjoy the weather and get into the hills and take vacations.  I am fortunate that I don't have very far to go for my hunting areas except for when I will start to scout out my elk hunting territory next month but then I'll only be gone for a couple of days during the week and leave the hills to weekend warriors to stir up the dust.

But I do have to agree that the forums are almost on life support.  But it is funny that at times I'll be off of them for a few days and come back and see a couple of pages of post.  You just never know what is going on with them.

Checked my Nosler manual and

Checked my Nosler manual and 4064 sshouldd be a good powder. It suggest's 4350 too but I suspect it may be a bit slow. Not reall all that big of case but fairly heavy bullet. Nosler also list's Varget, I have little experience with Varget but people that have used it seem to like it.

Hornady has what I'd call a better selection of powder's. 3031, 4320, 4895, Varget, RL-15 and the best velocity goes to W748. Makes sense to me with the size of the case. W748 falls into about the same speed as 3031, BLC/2, 4064, 4895 and others. Big bullet and a small case.
