im doing lots right now...stopping at cabelas every other day to look and think and buy or depending on how you look at it!

Just bought a new Lyman .54 Deerstalker, 57 SML sight, gonna refinish the stock when she shows up.  Need to get some shooting in, camp is already staked out, we are ready to rock!

Would be more excited had I drawn my tag.  But 2nd season is not far behind!! 

Archery elk is coming up fast for me, but I am super excited about my 2nd season buck tag. Shooting the bow everyday and should be shooting my Ultra Mag more this summer. Other than that really not to much else to do. Have had all the gear and camper for years and I literally try to stay out of my hunting areas until it is time to get in there and try to get the job done.

I've made weekly stops to Bass Pro and thinking about getting a new pack, optics, and camo set.  I did pickup the nat geo topo maps for my unit, which are a great buy for $10.  Lots of detail on the area...

im gunna beat a dead horse...when it comes to glass pick out the BEST you can afford....then buy the next model UP!!! you will never be sorry for spending money on gr8 optics

I have been driving up to the area where I want to hunt getting an idea for the lay of the land, just bought a new pair of Rocky Lynx boots, fairly lightweight, fit like a glove, but still hurt my feet due to some physiological issues with my ankles and what not, but shouldn't be an issue as I get them broke in.  After a bad season last year (lost my whole kill) not proud of this either....I just want to do the best I can, a clean ethical shot, not rushed, not pushed into taking a shot that questionable, and getting it done early and quickly.  Considering a new tent, and can't convince my wife I need a 4 wheeler to help in packing out meat.

Archery Elk and Archery Deer starts in 18 days for me. Time to buter up the wife a little bit.

I just put a new timney trigger on my Remington M700 7mm mag... Now I'm just counting the days until I leave Iraq and come back home and get out to do some scouting in WA for some blacktail and Roosevelt’s.
