.410 for grouse?

Just ordered a H&R Pardner .410 for rabbit, hare etc...

Has anyone ever used a .410 for forest grouse ?

Any shot recommendations?

I have used a .410 for grouse. I would recommend a 3" magnum in #4 or 6. It worked the best for me.

I used a .410 for one season a few years back. I agree with ChesterGolf, 3" and I would use #6. If I remember right, I only hit two grouse that year. It was fun.

Right on. I loaded up on 3" #6 shot. Sept. 1st. can't come fast enough! My "I'll do whatever you want me to do dad!" lead sled dog knows something good is coming. Time to put his insane prey drive to work and have him earn his grub before the snow flies. Yes Thumbs up

.410 is awesome for forest grouse, especially when they fly up into a treetop and stick their little heads out.
