anyone have or know anything about this caliber? how close is it to a 308 win? Thumbs up

Pretty much a 308 with a rimmed case. It was designed for lever actions with tubular magazines. Very fine round. I also like the 7-30 water. Which is a blown out and necked down 30-30.

Like fuzzy said, it is the 308 with a rim and I'll also add it only comes with flat nose bullets(like the 30-30) because of the tubular magazine. Ballistically it is the same calibre bullet for bullet.

One of our gang uses one at deer camp, I believe in a Marlin, to very good effect. It makes those lever actions just a bit more effective. He's a still hunter and he loves the calibre.

I have the winchester 307 and i have killed 5 moose with it without any problems
