The 2nd week of 2nd season

Who actually hunts this weekend? It always seems this is one of the most deserted weekends of the year in the woods. And if you don't and have a tag, you should really think about it.
I won't be, I'm going up to Wyoming to thin out some antelope herds, but I'm ready to give the elk a 2nd round. Got one more week to go for that though.

I am....

This is my first rifle season in over 5 years here in colorado, but you can expect to see my brother and I in the wilderness this weekend.

I hope its a little more quiet in the woods myself. It will be good to see some of the "road hunters" gone. Really the only time we had problem with too many people is in areas right on the main road and you can play connect the dots with all the orange.

With snow in the forecast, my elk tag still intact, I will for sure be going back up.

Hopefully I can pull through.

I would head back up but I got my cow this weekend and with my deer and antelope meat already in the freezer, I don't have room for a bull too. Good problem to have I guess.

I am going back. 5 days wasn't enough. I got the hall pass from the lady after promising dinner in Carbondale and climbing in Rifle on Sunday, but it will be worth it for one more chance at my first kill!

Where you going climbing at, up rifle creek??? I've been up there climbing a few times and its wonderful. The difficulty is up there but a great place. I was so busy with hunting and fishing this year I didnt even break out the climbing gear.

I'll be headed up littlebox canyon on my way to coulter mesa for my buck this weekend. Good luck this weekend everone who makes it out.
