They don't make a 180gr hunting bullet for a 270. The 1 in 10 twist would not be fast enough to stabilize such a long bullet. The 150gr is all you get.
270 win is plenty of rifle for a moose hunt. A 150gr in a Nosler Partition or a 140gr in a Trophy Bonded Bear Claw would work fine. It would be best to keep your shots within 200 yds.

Hey Fuzzybear, guess what? There actually IS a 180 grain .277 bullet manufactured by Barnes! Plus there's a 160 grain .277 as well! Talk to the Hand

Been all over the Barnes website but couldn't find anything heavier than 150 gr for the 270. Have you got a link that can take me to it.
Thanks

Reloaded for .270 winchester most of my adult life and never seen anything heavier than 150 gr. I don't believe anyone makes a .277 bullet heavier than 150 grain. For big game the .277 offers 130 gr, 140 gr, and 150 gr.

If Barnes makes an all copper bullet for this caliber, that would have to be one long bullet with a very narrow nose to equal 180 grains in copper. Even with lead.

Wilodcat bullets lists a 160 and 160gr bullet, Nosler lists data for a 160gr bullet and my old Hodgdon manual NO.24 list data for the 160gr bullet. Can't imagine why a good 150gr bullet wouldn't work.
