What do you want to use it for? I think loaded with a 100 gr Barnes TSX it would be about perfect for deer.

I love mine. But I like the 117gr Hornady. Makes a good deer/antelope cartridge. I think it's a bit to violent for preditors and varmits but it sure will drop them. Depending on what you want, it is a fine choice.

i was looking to use a .25-06 on deer and coyotes. H&R has a single-shot rifle in .25-06 with a 26"bull barrel that looks pretty nice. i was thinking about either a .243 or a .25-06 and decided that i liked the larger bullet weight and diameter of the .25. where i live there get to be 200 pound+ deer, and i would like to have more knockdown power, as well as long-range shooting capabilities.

I wouldn't be making my choice between the 25.06 and the 243 based on the size of the deer you may end up killing. Proper bullet selection will handle that decision quite nicely. I would prefer the 25.06 over the 243, because of the little extra bullet weights available, but, You can't make a bad decision here Thumbs up

I've never used one, but I know several guys that do and love them. I'm told they are fantastic on anything from antelope to mule deer. I wouldn't try it on anything larger than that, though.

Coyotes? Couldn't say... I'm sure it'll kill them. If you're looking to do anything with the hide I'd go smaller.

This reminds me. I shot a porcupine once with mine and a 100gr Hornady Spire Point and over 3300fps, don't remember what it was exactly. The porcupine looked like it had been electrocuted. Shot another that looked, well, ugly as it came apart. Poof!
