I would recommend discussing your situation with an experienced adult hunter (maybe your dad?). It would also be a good idea to have the same adult along on your next hunts for some much needed guidance.
Its very sad to lose that many deer. To me it sounds like the excitement of the hunt got to those 13 year old boys. They need someone along that can guide them and calm them down, and then talk them through making a good clean shot.
Take those 13 year olds for some target practice! Not just off a bench with a rest, but standing, sitting, etc. Check the accuracy of your guns.
