2003 Stanley Cup

Just got back to the boat from watching the Bruins/NJ game. I know that it's a little late tto start this thread - but what are your guys' predictions for round one and the cup?

OTT-NYI....OTT
BOS-NJD....NJD
TMP-WAS....WAS
TOR-PHI....PHI

DAL-EDM....DAL
DET-ANA....DET
COL-MIN....COL
VAN-STL....STL

And I'm really going out on a limb to predict St Louis will win the Cup.

All I care is that it better be a team that comes from somewhere that gets natural ice outside its arena at some point during the year.

The Av's are a fantastic team with a lot of depth. Offence will win the regular season - defence wins the playoffs. I just don't trust Roy anymore not to have a ego-maniac hissy fit and blow it. As for Detroit - I think that big-names aving already won 2-3 rings won't be able to turn it up against an up-and-coming challenger who wants it so bad it hurts...and this year Bowman isn't there to light a fire under their butts.

Yeah, that is a good point about Roy. He can physic himself up and physic himself out too. Some of the Avs star power is starting to fade too, but they do have offensive depth.

Are you rooting for the Blues?

I'm rooting for Al MacGinnis. My favourite type of goal in hockey is a laser-beam point shot that beats the goalie on pure speed. No one can do that like him so I love watching him play. (And he's from Port Hood, NS too).

Unfortunatley he's out injured at the moment. But I was really impressed ith the heart they showed against Vancouver in Game 1 and even when they lost Game 2.

Any word on how long Al will be out?

The Ducks SLAMMED Detroit, my heart is broken, really Wink.

Looks like the Avs will pull through, looks like the Blues will to.

OTT looks tough, so does Jersey....

Ottawa usually folds in the playoffs but seeing as I live near Ottawa I'll say Lord Stanley is their's this year.

They look tough this year, Ahunter. Have to see how it turns out.

Guess I should have known better to predict the Avs would pull through the other day. It ain't over yet and it looks like Minnesota still has some life....

Sad to say that the AVS lost the series. Grin
