my nephew's went two for two opening day of third season to get their first kills. they did not have time to be picky with football playoffs in full swing. They went out with their dad and grandpa in the morning and got on a bunch of deer right away and my oldest nephew put one down. Then they has a playoff game at 1 after the game I came along and found about 7 bedded bucks a couple spikes and a couple 4x4's and then we spotted one bedded by himself he was definately the biggest one in the group at least a main frame 4x4 with heavy heavy mass, I got excited but tried to control it and not let my nephew know just how big he was I didn't want him getting to nervous. The only problem was these bucks where about 20yards on the wrong side of the fence. we waited them out and they started moving the wrong way so we decieded to try and intercept them further down. by this time the deer where just piling into the surrounding fields and I spotted two decent bucks coming towards us we picked one out and I ranged him at around 157 yards. Nick let the lead fly and dropped the buck in his tracks he got a younger 4x4 and the other buck in the morning was a young 2x2. those bucks that had the big boy with them never did cross the fence oh well you cant get much better than that for a first kill everyone had a great time.
