.22 Sub Sonics are the quietest I have ever heard with out a supresor.

They dont make them for long rifle but they do make them in longs and that it the same casing as long rifle with a smaller bullet.

The CB's are sub sonic rounds like remington has mentioned. Other brands make them as well.

First of all, if you haven't gone winter backpacking, it needs to happen in the near future. It puts a very unique twist on the summer version of the activity.
