It's been a very long time

It's been a very long time since I've had the opportunity to hunt ruffed grouse. We had a few of them on our property in northern Wisconsin when I was a kid. Back then all the things discussed in this workshop was nothing I would have even thought about. The clothes to wear was whatever would keep me warm as I had nothing by the way of real hunting clothes like most of us do now. As far as the use of dogs we didn't even have one so that was not an option. I do remember that the preferred shotgun to use by evreyone I knew was a 20 guage with 6 shot. Not sure what would really be best but that was what we used.

It brings back a lot of memories as these days it's usually only blue grouse that I get to hunt and they are not very bright most of the time.
