Lighten up...

We posted this simply because we found it humorous. As hunters and shooters, new ammo is always news for us, right?

Simple - just a marketing ploy!

Okay - it is October and hunting season... well maybe not a good time for Zombies.

I will not be wasting my money on buying a marked up Hornady product just because it has a fancy name and box made up for the time of year.  Late November or December they should be marked down... but I will still not be purchasing them.

Does this kind of marketing help or hinder efforts on 2nd amendment rights?

Botton line - marketing departments or companies are there to get you to spend your money on their product.  Not going to happen with me here!  And I didn't bother watching the video.

Right, zombie ammo, I need that

I got a press release by email from "team Hornady" with a bunch of marketing hype for the Zombie ammo last week.  I thought it was ridiculous then and still think it's ridiculous now.  But I have to say that it's getting my attention so the marketing gurus at Hornady must be doing something right.  Now if they can just convince me to spend my hard earned cash on some Zombie bullets and not just comment about them on a public forum....

Yeah Hunter, i am sure you

Yeah Hunter, i am sure you can find some zombie targets out there already if you look around. lol

Funny.  Talk about Hornaday playing to a certain type of crowd.  I absolutely bet there are people out there who will buy this stuff, because they actually believe in zombies.  Those people are out there.  Other than that, there will be people who actually by them because they like Hornaday bullets and ammunition, so it would be interesting to hear from that crowd how this bullet performs.

I like the warning too about it not being a toy, and only intended to be used on Zombies.  Heck, I might even need to grab a box to have as a keepsake.

Now that's pretty funny. I

Now that's pretty funny. I was just looking at some of the Zombbie targets that have come out the other day. I just saw previews for a new series on tv in addition to all the movies that are out there so I guess they are trying to capitalize on the extra advertising. I didn't plan to buy any of the targets and I'm sure not planning to buy any of the ammo either unless I find some really marked down somewhere. I think I'd feal kind of silly buying it actually.

Max Points & Still No Tag!

I've been accumulating preference points ever since the screening of the orginal "Night of the Living Dead" and still no tag.  I'm beginning to think here is no such thing.  Just in case, I'm gonna stay well stocked with appropriate short, mid and long range deterance & destruction ammo!

It's my understanding that zombie hunting is only allowed on private property as they are classified as non-native exotic species and therefore not allowed to be stocked or maintained on public land.  As we all know they are normally found in huntable populations in and around lightly inhabited human environments (abandoned gas stations, closed down drive in theaters and strip malls, abandoned multi story buildings or those under construction, etc.).

Rumor has it  Z.A.P.T.(Zombies Are People Too), a new green, liberal, social conscious awareness organization group is actively attempting to introduce sustainable populations of zombies in areas that could have had them in the past.  Primary introduction sites include State and National parks where hunting and/or gun possesion is prohibited,  heavily populated areas of California, Colorado, New York and Massachusetts and other geographic areas with low populations of moderate to extreme conservative thinking red necks, hillbillies and other social neanderthals where said populations would out-compete and eliminate introduced zombies.

On a legal note, if and when hunting zombies please try to refrain from using the term "zapped" as in "Hot dogget, I just zapped another one of them Bast#@$%s".  Z.A.P.T. have threatened law suits for illegal use and infringement of their trademarked name - suits that will no doubt be encouraged by Judges in the Federal Ninth Circuit.

Happy Hunting and Happy Halloween!

What is the fascination with

What is the fascination with zombies lately? People here have been hacking the electronic street signs and changing the wording to say "Caution, zombies ahead". There has also been Zombie flash mobs in down town. I just don't get it. There was even a guy at Walmart who had his car decaled with Zombie Hunter and a website and phone number. He was wearing some coveralls and it too had his logo and Zombie hunter business info. This is a unique marketing ploy. I just wonder how many people will buy the Zomies rounds? I'm sure it's a high quaility product since most everything made by Hornady is. If anyone buys and tries theses things you'll have to give us a product review. This story kind of made me laugh a bit. Kind of clever.

How many preferance points you need for a zombie tag?

Nutz, I am with you on this and do not understand it either. Thought it was just me getting older. I agree the bullets will be good as Hornady rarely if ever make a poor product but if it is just for zombies I will pass. I say a good old fashion 12 gauge blast will take down any zombie. Last I knew no state had a zombie season but might have to see how many preferance points you need for one. My wife loves trophies on the wall but really doubt she will agree to a zombie. As you said it is a marketing tool so hope they have fun with it.
