Firearm Background Checks Surge

According to FBI data released today, it appears that one day gun purchase background checks have surged. USA Today has a brief write up on the figures released from the FBI.

The Bloomberg report says FBI data show that one-day sales of handguns in Arizona jumped 60% on Monday, compared with a corresponding Monday a year ago. That represents the second-biggest increase of any state in the nation. Sales are up 65% in Ohio, 16% in California, 38% in Illinois and 33% in New York. Nationally, sales are up about 5%.
