California Tries Raffle for Wildlife Fundraising
Last year the California Department of Fish and Game offered two random drawings for a deer license, and an elk license. Offering licenses by raffle brought in over $130,000 for the Department and for conservation. This year they are raffling four random drawing chances to win a big game license. This year along with the deer and elk, there is a desert bighorn sheep and pronghorn antelope tag.
Any interested hunter can purchase the raffle tickets from the DFG, or online for $5.66, no limits. The last day to purchase tickets is June, 2, with the drawing being held within 10 business days of that date. For the winner of the drawing to receive the tag, they must have a 2012-13 California hunting license.
“In our continued support of hunting and quest to increase hunting and fishing opportunities in California, I’m pleased that our hunters can purchase multiple random drawing fund-raising tag chances for special hunt tags this year,” said DFG Director Charlton H. Bonham. ”I am particularly excited that this year we will include a once-in-a-lifetime desert bighorn sheep tag as well as a coveted northeastern California pronghorn antelope tag. From CarsonNow.org.
