Arizona Hunting Applications Are Due

Arizona's Game and Fish Department are urging hunters to keep in mind the impact of the wildfires when buying their permits this year. There are no refunds, or rain checks once a permit is bought. There are two wildfires burning right now in Arizona, and the full impact will not be known until later.

"It is far too early to know the short-term or long-term impacts the fire will have to habitat, wildlife, waters, access, hunting, fishing, and other outdoor recreation until the fires are put out and crews can go in and make an assessment," Game and Fish said in a press release.

Applications to hunt deer, fall turkey, fall javelina, bighorn sheep, fall buffalo and pheasant must be made by Tuesday, June 14, 2011. From the Tucson Sentinel.

I have not yet gotten into

I have not yet gotten into the Arizona point game but do intend to in the future. At least the fires started before the application process was over so the guys that need to can make other plans and not draw some tag they have been waiting possibly years for. Hopefully the recovery of the area will bring it back even better than before.
